Robbie Grimes has spent his adult life in public service, dedicating 25 years to law enforcement, including 18 years serving inside the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. His career has been built through steady progression, earned responsibility, and hands-on leadership — not from the outside looking in, and not through shortcuts. Over the years, Robbie has worked his way through nearly every rank within the office, gaining firsthand experience in how the organization functions at every level.

That inside-out experience has given Robbie a clear understanding of the policies, people, and decisions that keep the Sheriff’s Office operating effectively. From day-to-day operations to leadership responsibilities, he has been directly involved in the work that supports deputies, protects accountability, and serves the community. His experience is practical, earned, and grounded in real responsibility — not theory or political ambition.

Raised on the values of faith, family, integrity, and service, Robbie believes leadership is earned through consistency, accountability, and showing up — especially when recognition isn’t guaranteed. He has never viewed leadership as a spotlight, but as a responsibility to support others, strengthen policy, and do the work that needs to be done.
